2006 LYF Season

Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance is committed to the furthering of education of all its’ members in all aspects of athletics (coaching, officiating, rules, child development, first aid, team management, etc.).

Louisiana Youth Coaches Alliance has started their initiatives to improve the quality of life by partnering with BREC to enhance the quality of the Junior Tackle Football program offered to the East Baton Rouge Parish communities. The restructured program formed from this partnership is called the Louisiana Youth Football. In our inaugural season, we had 44 registered teams , approximately 1100 registered youth (ranging from 7 yrs old to 13 yrs old), and approximately 300 volunteer coaches. In our 2006 season, we have seen growth in all areas. We have 53 registered teams, over 1500 registered Student-Athletes (ranging from 7 yrs old to 13 yrs old), and approximately 250 volunteers, 215 are CERTIFIED volunteer football coaches. These numbers are impressive, even for established youth programs; so we are excited about our accomplishments thus far and delighted to share this with the citizens of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, & the United States.

Any student athlete who maintained a 3.0 or better GPA during the season will be named to the 2006 Louisiana Youth Football All State Academic Team & Louisiana Youth Cheerleading All State Academic Squad for each division. These student athletes will be nominated by their coach for consideration. An official report card or progress report will accompany the nomination. This year, the 2006 Louisiana Youth Football All State Academic Teams & Louisiana Youth Cheerleading All State Academic Squads, along with The Hats' Off Sportsmanship Award winners & The Scholastic Dream Team Award winners, was recognized during halftime of each Louisiana Youth Football Championship Series championship game.
